Submersible Pump Buying Guide

Buying the wrong submersible pump wastes electricity, reduces water flow and shortens pump life. This guide helps you evaluate borewell depth, water level, power supply and application before you purchase a Kingwell Submersible Pump.

01

Step 1: Measure your borewell

Accurate borewell data is the foundation of pump selection.

  • Total borewell depth (feet or metres)
  • Inner diameter (4", 5", 6" or 8")
  • Static water level and seasonal variation
  • Required daily water quantity (litres or hours of run time)
02

Step 2: Calculate head and discharge

Head is the total height the pump must lift water — borewell depth plus delivery pipe height to tank or field. Add 15–20% safety margin above static water level.

Discharge (LPM) must match your irrigation system, overhead tank size or domestic demand. Undersized pumps starve the system; oversized pumps waste power.

03

Step 3: Check power supply

Confirm whether you have single phase (230V) or three phase (415V) connection.

  • Single phase: ideal for domestic use and small farms up to ~3 HP
  • Three phase: better for deep borewells, higher HP and continuous farm irrigation

Also verify voltage stability — low voltage damages motors. Use stabilizer or soft starter where needed.

04

Step 4: Choose the right Kingwell series

Match pump series to borewell size:

  • V4 — 4 inch borewell, domestic and small farm
  • V6 — 6 inch borewell, agriculture and medium depth
  • V8 — 8 inch borewell, high discharge and deep applications

See our V4 vs V6 vs V8 comparison guide for detailed differences.

05

Step 5: Verify genuine product

Always buy from authorized Kingwell dealers listed on our website. Genuine pumps include factory packaging, model label, GST invoice and warranty card.

Avoid unusually low prices from unknown sellers — duplicate pumps are common in the market. When in doubt, WhatsApp us a photo for verification.

06

Step 6: Post-purchase checklist

After purchase:

  • Register warranty with your dealer
  • Use recommended cable size and pipe diameter
  • Install through qualified technician
  • Keep invoice and serial number safe
  • Schedule first service after initial running period
